Blood Red April 27, 2010

Giant crystal chandelier,

Red crystal chandelier.

Hung on the ceiling of a

Seven star hotel.

Suspended with

Wire & twine.

The wire breaks.

One by one.

The four twines break.

The chandelier falls,

But the crystals fly

towards the sky.

The chandelier crashes

against

The pure white marble floor.

The metal body lies on the floor

like an exhausted ballet dancer.

The crystals are broken

into icicles,

into constellations,

into powdered lead –

only blood red.

Beautiful imagery…yet disturbing poem. Need to read it a few more times to comprehend its full meaning.

may be there’s no real meaning… its just a feeling. Like watching things in slow motion.
